Abstract

The growth of feminist thought in Malayalam literature is a testament to significant socio-cultural transformations from the first decade of the twentieth century to the present. Writers from Lalithambika Antharjanam to Sarah Joseph have created revolutionary changes in the field of literature through writings that question the very foundations of the patriarchal system. This study analyzes the historical development, theoretical foundations, contributions of prominent writers, and thematic changes of the feminist movement in Malayalam literature. On the journey from social renaissance to modern feminism, this paper examines how Malayalam literature became a powerful tool in the struggle for women's freedom and equality.
